The cheesesteak may be one of the best sandwiches in Birmingham. The goat soup was also pretty amazing itself as well!

I'm so glad I found this place!! Just moved from LA and was craving African food and this place hit the spot. The food is cooked to order but it still came out pretty quickly and everything was so flavorful. I got the egusi with fufu, collards, and tomato salad. The chicken in the egusi was so tender and falling off the bone. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other dishes!

if you're looking for some authentic african (kenyan) food in Birmingham make sure to check out sahani! this is my first time ever coming to the restaurant although i've tried their food truck before. this is a family owned establishment, and every time i come in the owners are so nice and the service is always 10/10. everything i cooked to order so expect to wait at least 15mins for your food. previously i've tried their lamb quesadillas, masala fries, wings, chipati bread, and samosas. this time at the restaurant tried out the nyama choma (lamb) with jollof rice, tomato salad and a beef samosa. overall i'm satisfied with my order and the food was delicious as always and the portion was great!

I came to Sahani Kitchen and had an amazing lunch! The whole fish was crispy, flavorful, and overall delicious. The sauces that come with were both incredible, and with a bit of lemon over the fish and greens it was a fantastic flavor combo. I've never had fufu before but it was so good. And the MASALA FRIES I can't wait to get back. The place is casual and friendly, and the employees are so nice and helpful. I highly recommend this for any meal, it is such a great spot!

I can't say enough about this place! I drive from Huntsville to Birmingham just to eat at this place. The Egusi, the lamb, the fufu, the quesadillas, the greens, the fries, the samosas, and the fried bread are all my favorites but I wouldn't hesitate to try everything in the menu! They are family owned and super friendly!

Incredible food and atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff. I was around the block vending a market at Haven and stumbled upon this little gem. Tiny hole in the wall almost under a bridge with a food truck parked outside. I got the steak philly and a samosa. Damn delicious. Their fries and sauce are great, too.

My husband found this place after I said I was craving Egusi and Fufu. I had not heard of this place and I wanted to go right away. We stopped by for a lunch date today. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and was all smiles. My husband ordered the lemon pepper wings and fries. He enjoyed his meal. Of course, I ordered the Egusi and Fufu, which was very delicious. The food and service were great! I loved the music playing in the background. I will definitely be back.

Stopped in here while in B'Ham for a doctors appointment. I have never tried Nigerian food but I'm glad I did! They didn't actually have my first 2 choices so I had to go with the beef stew. I was not disappointed! It was very flavorful and a little spicy. It came with greens, fried plantains and fufu. For those who don't know what fufu is, it's basically plantains that have been smashed with a mortar and pestle until it turns into a gummy substance. That was actually pretty bland but good in its own way. You dip it into the sauce of the stew and you're supposed to swallow it whole ( I chewed it) lol. I would definitely recommend that you try this place if you're ever in the Birmingham area! You won't be disappointed! OH and the fries were amazing! I had a side of those also

If you're looking for some authentic African cuisine this is the place to be. They're service is impeccable and it feels like home. Everything is made fresh!! Their location is perfect, in the heart of Downtown birmingham. The food.... 10/10 recommend. I've had almost everything on the menu and I have no complaints. So flavorful and seasoned so perfectly!! I recommend everything but today I had their lamb quesadilla with fries and a samosa(street taco). And whatever you do, don't forget to ask for their signature sahani sauce. It's to die for!!!
